Would We Have Seed

SeedBroadcast in partnership with HawkMoth Farm and Agroecology Center and the many seeds they care for.

This timelapse video was shot in 2018 at HawkMoth Farm and Agroecology Center in Anton Chico, New Mexico. Comprised of over 90,000 images from May - October, it shows the daily life of a milpa from sunup to sundown over an entire growing season as people, plants, animals, soils, water, and more work together to make agri-Culture vital. Planted from seeds saved and passed on year after year and watered primarily by the historic Acequia de los Ranchitos de Anton Chico, this open pollinated garden grew a polyculture of arid-land crop varieties, withstanding one of the worst drought years on record and a late-season devastating flood. Seeds were born again, shared, and replanted.
